A leader is never a leader because of their title; a leader is someone people choose to follow.

As I travel the state of Texas, I've been thinking about the role of Republican county chair because it's often the case the people talk to me about their county chair. Some want their chair to fundraise to help candidates. Some want their chair to lead on Republican issues.

I did some digging around. The Texas Republican County Chair Association seemed like a place to start, but it contains a lot of pointers to a guy named David Luther and his personal website. Nothing on the site says anything about being a county chair, but you can get a swell decorative pin if you join something called the 500 Club. Or you can read their extensive by-laws. Nothing about being a county chair... more like a vanity project.

Wow! — Right On. David Luther — an ardent devotee of incumbent HD85 Rep Stan Kitzman — is working very hard on his own vanity project, and its a far cry from actually being a leader, as the Texas GOP defines the role and duties of County Party Chair.

I heard last week from a member of our HD85 Project Group; in talking about Republican vs Democrat, he got pretty specific about “R":

"The Uniparty" is a more fitting label than the Swamp, Deep State, or Rinos, for many in America’s Republican political class. For both Austin as well as Washington, DC there is an element of Republicans who deny how the GOP has retreated by accomodation over the last 30 years. Since then, much of the reachable Democrat party has actually migrated to the “New" Republican party which I call "constitutional populist." There are too many in the GOP who still live by traditions of the 1990's while the Democrat rump seeking influence is too radical, naive, or compliant to their paymasters.

The weak GOP seeks compromise with the left and that produces a Uniparty, ultimately controlled by the left.

This is the very thing we are seeing in Austin and with the TEXAS HOUSE. It's a deep motivation for our effort.

Saturday, 15 February: TXHD85 hosted a visit to Columbus where Brett Rogers presented his “Campaign Workshop”. This three-hour training sequence was directed at providing tools for voters to replace current leadership in House District 85 (Waller, Fayette, Colorado, Austin, Wharton and part of Ft Bend Counties). The participants were energized by the ideas proposed by Rogers and committed to the next steps.

Based on this success, the TXHD85 Project is planning another “Campaign Workshop”, at a location to be announced.

Will this website help get Rino Stan Kitzman primaried and thrown out of the Republican Party?

Yes, but not without your participation. He may be a for-ever RINO — that is a very tough stain to remove.

We must find a candidate, and support his effort in the 2026 Primary.

We really cannot get Stan Kitzman “thrown out” of the GOP. There is no other way but political defeat, although he might be taken by criminal indictment.

Our objective at TXHD85 Project is to ensure our counties discover and support a viable opponent in next year’s election.
